Big Sur Adventure Elopement | Peter & Nyssa

After Peter and Nyssa’s engagement session at Pfeiffer Beach comes their Big Sur adventure elopement! I’m forever grateful to have been recommended to them through their family/friends, Nikki and Marco. In fact, I photographed their wedding at The Barns At Cooper Molera way WAY back in 2019. Don’t get me started on how the pandemic has totally warped my sense of time! COVID threw a few wrenches into the original plan but after their initial intimate wedding, Peter and Nyssa got to do this Big Sur adventure elopement plus their vow renewal! Read on for all the dreaminess!

Who Said “I Love You” First?

“Peter said it on accident when we were saying goodnight on the phone. We did long distance in the beginning of our relationship. I would drive home every weekend to see him and one Friday night when I came to visit him, he had dinner made and sat me on the couch to tell me his true feelings and that’s when we said I love you to each other. I believe it was a month into us dating.” – Nyssa

First Looks & Getting Ready For Their Big Sur Adventure Elopement

We started at Bernardus Lodge & Spa with Peter and Nyssa getting ready for their Big Sur adventure elopement. Nyssa was so excited to wear her wedding dress again and relive the experience. Who WOULDN’T feel and want that? The two of them had SUCH a dreamy first look. When I tell you we were all head over heels for each other and just the best of friends. You couldn’t ask for a better relationship between a couple and their photographer at this Big Sur Adventure Elopement! Not to mention having worked with their family in the past- it’s the gift that keeps on giving!

What Do You Love Most About Your Partner?

“Besides Nyssa’s looks (lol!), it’s the way she makes me laugh. She has a way of shining a light to every situation, and finding a way to make me smile even during tough times. It’s easy with her and I, especially because we genuinely have the same sense of humor. I love that we had a solid foundation of friendship before we fell in love because it helped create a lot of passion and depth between us. It’s basically because we are always on the same beat together. She is my person and soulmate.” – Peter

“The thing I love the most about Peter is his compassion and kindness. Our foundation of friendship gives us this unbreakable bond, one where I can truly say hes my soulmate. Peter is the only person in the world who knows me through and through. Without saying a word, he knows what I’m thinking and understands me completely. He has a way about him that allows me to open up to him and be myself. He loves me for me, never tries to change who I am or how I feel, and he makes me complete. Peter creates understanding and peace, which is why we always say ‘same page, same wave’ to each other. Being understood and accepted is one of the best feelings! His light shines bright wherever he goes, it’s hard not to fall in love with him!” – Nyssa

Adventure Elopement On The Big Sur Coastline

As a local Big Sur wedding photographer, I’m always over the moon to show my couples the hidden gems in the area! Peter and Nyssa and I spent HOURS exploring the coastline. Then, we enjoyed a picnic by the sea with these beautiful china pieces by [ ], the quintessential cheese spread and champagne, AND a cake by their friend’s mom! After the picnic was Peter and Nyssa’s mini Big Sur adventure elopement reception, their ceremony and their first dance. It was so unbelievably sweet and romantic! Some of my favorite details were Nyssa’s gorgeous fur jacket  and the Big Sur adventure elopement florals by Cassia Foret
